West Bridgford Minis Tour to Matlock Rugby Festival preceded with 2 nights at Kingswood Dearne Valley.

On Friday 27th April 2018, West Bridgford Rugby Club U8 through to U12 age groups traveled to Kingswood's Dearne Valley activity centre near Doncaster for a two night residential followed by rugby at Matlock Rugby Festival. 125 Children and 31 Coaches and Helpers enjoyed climbing, zip-wire, raft building, kayaking, laser quest, archery, aeroball, campfire and of course the 'Short Simon' show. For some of the younger ones this was their first time away from home without parents and for many of them the first time in dormitories. Fed and fueled by a mix of food provided by the Catering Team at Kingswood and tuck brought on tour by the children everyone enjoyed themselves getting to know their fellow team mates and those from other age groups. The Tour moved onto Matlock Rugby Club early Sunday morning to attend their annual festival. This year for the first time the RFU New Rules of Play applied to every age group allowing rugby to be played for fun and enjoyment without much need to pay attention or even record the scores. All in all a great way for the West Bridgford Minis to end their rugby this season. Special thanks goes to the volunteers who made this tour happen including Dan Miller, Tim Jarvis and all the Age Group Tour Managers.
