Melbourne were excellent hosts on Sunday, the sun shone brightly and the rugby wasn’t too bad either.

As ever the naming of stars of the week was the source of much debate but the albatross of excellence was awarded to:

Hudson – Well done to you
Lewis – Well done to you

Back to training this weekend, where we anticipate being shoe-horned into a corner of Stamford Road. 10:30 start as ever.

I hope our handling of the ball does not pay homage to Roy Plunkett who received a patent in 1941 for ‘Tetrafluoroethylene Polymers’ now known as Teflon and that the remaining cheques for tour make it to us and don’t slip the mind.

Finally I have been asked to let you know of a fund raising event being arranged:

A charity fundraising event has been organised on Sat Feb 10th from 7.00 pm - 11.00pm. The event will be held at the West Bridgford Tennis Club and tickets will cost £15 per head. For this minor contribution there is a curry and drink included, as well the opportunity to participate in the charity auction after dinner. Monies raised will be distributed between this years Matlock tour as well as supporting the children's charity Chicks. Tickets will be available to purchase from tomorrow - just see Ruth Dodge or Mike Warren-Smith (U9/U12).

We are also looking for items to be included in the auction. All support welcomed, including gifts, time related items e.g. massage, or beauty appointments or even contacts from companies might be willing to support a good cause.
