When we arrived at Derby rfc today the lads looked ready ,sadly though the 1st 20 minutes ruined any chances of more silverware ,Pavs played a more savvy game ,we're both equally matched and on the day there's nothing to separate us ,2 very well drilled teams going toe to toe , it was a great advert for junior rugby
Pavs made the most of a lethargic Bridggy squad and raced into a 2 try 1 penalty lead which proved to much of a mountain to climb 15-0 down after just 20 minutes but for the next 50 minutes it was 1 try a piece when we woke up .
Bridggy heads never dropped though and the most debatable of forward passes stopped Ben adding to is initial score that would have made it interesting as the Bullet placed down under the sticks 12-22 and it would have made the last 10 minutes or so interesting ,but take nothing away from Pavs they throughly deserved their win,the first time ever they've claimed the bragging rights but what a time to get it !
Well done to both sets of players ,Colts rugby is in good shape next season if this is going to be the standard set.
I've had the most brilliant time coaching the lads over the last 8 1/2 years as I said to the lads and parents afterwards we've been super successful winning 10 trophies .we've laughed , cried , won and lost together as one and it's been my privilege to have witnessed this .
Yours , looking for something to do on a Sunday morning :(
